I normally try to post a minimum of one new article on substack each week.
This week, in lieu of an article I have a bit of poetry and music in the form of a video. I went into the studio last week and started working on this song and it kind of took me over and then I felt the need to make a video for it as well.
The video was originally intended to be something simple, but then I discovered a pretty amazing new A.I. tool in beta testing on Runway called ‘Act One”. It allows you to use a simple head and shoulders video of yourself as driving video for lip syncing to any A.I. image you can imagine.
I immediately decided that it would be a fun idea to have ghosts and spectres lip sync my song rather than having my hairy old face in yet another video. It seemed fitting that an ‘Elegy to the Spectres’ should be performed by the spectres themselves.
Needless to say, the task had a big learning curve and I ended up turning it into a very complicated edit with hundreds of cuts, so it took me all week to finish and I had no time to write a new article.
So here’s a video instead, thanks for taking the time to watch and please share if you can think of someone who might enjoy it:
Lyrics:
Well I cannot see you
A ghost in the ether
and I only feel you
a form in the darkness
You hide in an ocean
so vast and so deep
the waves on the surface
are all that we see
and we are all spectres
made real for a moment
we fade and we fracture
phantoms for the ages
I am amazed.. As always by your talent and your imagination and your insights into reality.
Incredible, Frater!! Wow.
Thank you for being such an inspiration.
